Marketing Tip #5
Have you ever heard of the “feel-good” marketing approach?
Everybody encounters some form of marketing daily – whether they know it or not. From tailored sales ads on numerous online platforms that people surf daily, ad banners in your email’s inbox, and even those 30-second ads you see when streaming your favorite show. What many individuals in the marketing industry fail to realize is that many consumers get burned out seeing the same message multiple times a day.
“Feel-good” marketing takes a different approach and is gaining traction when companies are presenting their marketing plans. Do you know what that means? You need to focus on a marketing plan that implements a feel-good strategy.
Let us take an example of what some consider to be a marketing strategy that may not make your consumers feel good:
Traditional Email Marketing
Email marketing can be a slippery slope, especially when you automate the process. Whether it be newsletters, follow up sequences, or abandoned cart funnels; most of the time these typical methods of email marketing tend to be “salesy” and pushes a product or service down the consumer’s throat.
Try a New Approach
Instead of the typical sales approach to email marketing, try sending emails that seem like you are engaging in a conversation with your consumer. Boosting your open rates and click-through rates is not the focus when sending email blasts to the list you have built over the years (or have just started building – but that is a topic for another blog). The main goal for email marketing is to have your consumers engage with you, your product, or your service. Connecting to the people that are subscribed to your communications have given their permission to be contacted via email, however, connecting with them is what will lead to minimal people unsubscribing from your list. This sets you up for success when it comes to email marketing in the grand scheme of things because this tactic will make your consumers feel like they are personally connecting with you – not a salesperson.
Why You Should Try the Feel-Good Marketing Approach
When experimenting with some of the feel-good marketing strategies that are out there it may be easy to get carried away with ideas of how to make your consumers feel good about the product or service that you offer. Feel-good marketing is not just about making your consumers feel good about their decision to purchase your products or services, it is also a way for you to be excited about marketing your business and its services to your ideal consumer. If you take the time to build a marketing plan that you enjoy executing, connects you with the perfect consumer you would repeat over and over, and excites you and your consumers, then neither party will be left burnt out from the traditional “salesy” marketing tactics.
